For those interested in a luxury SUV that’s not too big, the 2024 Acura RDX might not be their top choice. While it doesn’t have the same status as flashy brands like BMW or Mercedes-Benz, it offers a lot of features for a lower price, making it a great option for people who want a fancier version of the Honda CR-V.

Even though it has some issues like brakes that feel a bit weird and a transmission that can be clumsy, the RDX is fun to drive, especially with its all-wheel-drive system. Inside, it’s comfortable with plenty of space for storing things, but it doesn’t have the same fancy materials as some of its rivals, and the infotainment system can be confusing to use.

Unlike some other Acura models, there’s no high-performance version of the RDX, but there is an A-Spec trim that adds a bit of style. However, it doesn’t make the car drive any faster. Overall, the RDX is best for people who care more about getting a good deal than showing off.

In 2024, Acura is making all RDX models have all-wheel drive instead of just front-wheel drive.

If you’re looking for an electric SUV from Acura, check out the ZDX, which has a version that can go up to 325 miles on a single charge and a high-performance model with 500 horsepower.

If you’re thinking about getting the RDX, consider adding the Technology package, which gives you a better sound system, navigation, fancier seats, and more. But if you want even more features like adaptive dampers and a head-up display, you’ll have to get the Advance package, which will cost you more.

Under the hood, every RDX has a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and all-wheel drive. It’s not the fastest SUV in its class, but it’s still quick enough for most drivers. The RDX also handles well, with sharp steering and a system that helps it turn corners smoothly. However, the brake pedal can feel a bit strange at times.

The RDX gets decent gas mileage for its size, with ratings of 21 mpg in the city and 27 on the highway. Inside, there’s a lot going on with buttons and a touchpad, but it’s not too overwhelming once you get used to it. The touchscreen is big and easy to use, and you can connect your phone wirelessly to use apps like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you want even more features, you can get the Technology package, which includes things like built-in navigation and a better sound system.
