2027 Porsche Taycan Updates, Price, and Luxury Car Shipping Guide

2027 Porsche Taycan Updates, Price, and Luxury Car Shipping Guide

The 2027 Porsche Taycan keeps the same basic electric sports-car formula, but Porsche has made meaningful changes to how it drives, charges, and interacts with the driver. For the new model year, the Taycan gets an available E-Shift system with simulated gear changes, a larger battery as standard across the lineup, native NACS fast charging on most versions, faster infotainment, AI-supported voice control, and expanded customization options. Porsche says model-year 2027 deliveries begin in fall 2026.

Those updates matter to buyers, but so does what happens after purchase. A Taycan bought from an out-of-state dealer, shipped to a second home, or moved during relocation may need luxury car shipping rather than a long delivery drive. Because the Taycan combines a low sports-car profile, expensive bodywork, advanced electronics, and a high-voltage lithium-ion battery, planning the transport correctly matters just as much as choosing the trim.

New 2027 Porsche Taycan

The new Porsche Taycan 2027 is a model-year update rather than an entirely new generation. One of the biggest changes is Porsche’s new E-Shift system. E-Shift is available across the Taycan range and simulates the feel of an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. In manual mode, drivers can use steering-wheel paddles to move through eight virtual gears. The system also adds a virtual rev counter, shift lights, simulated engine-braking characteristics, and an updated Porsche Electric Sport Sound. The Taycan Turbo GT gets E-Shift as standard. The important detail is that this is a software-driven experience rather than a conventional multi-speed transmission. Porsche says the system adds visual, acoustic, and tactile feedback without changing the underlying EV power delivery.

The 2027 Porsche Taycan updates also extend deep into the cabin. Porsche Communication Management now has substantially more computing power, while the new Porsche Digital Interaction interface introduces configurable widgets, a 3D vehicle display, improved smartphone integration, and a more customizable layout. Voice Pilot also gains AI-supported natural-language control. Drivers can ask follow-up questions without repeating the activation phrase, and the system can control functions such as navigation, media, selected apps, and even the charging flap. Over-the-air infotainment updates are now supported as well. Porsche has also expanded Paint to Sample choices, adding 16 new colors and bringing the catalog to 153 selections. So while the basic Taycan shape and platform remain familiar, the 2027 model feels more like a substantial technology and driving-experience update than a routine model-year change.

Porsche Taycan 2027 Battery, Range, and Charging Updates

The battery change is one of the most important updates. For 2027, Porsche says the 105-kWh Performance Battery Plus is standard across all Taycan variants. Earlier Taycan configurations could use different battery sizes, so this creates a more consistent baseline across the lineup. Porsche lists maximum charging power of up to 320 kW at compatible 800-volt DC fast-charging stations. The car also gains a battery state-of-health display, giving owners additional visibility into battery condition over time. Porsche has not published one single EPA range figure that applies to every 2027 Taycan variant, so range should be checked for the exact model before purchase.

Native NACS Charging Arrives

Another major update is the charging-port layout. Most 2027 Taycan models now get a native NACS DC fast-charging port on the passenger-side front fender. The driver-side port remains J1772 for AC charging, and Porsche supplies a CCS adapter. There is one notable exception: The Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package does not receive the native NACS port update. The change also fits into Porsche’s broader Tesla Supercharger access strategy. Porsche announced in 2025 that its customers would gain access to more than 23,500 Tesla Superchargers across North America. Earlier Taycan owners could use a Porsche-supplied NACS adapter, while the 2027 Taycan brings native NACS DC charging to most of the lineup. For buyers who travel long distances, that can make public fast charging more convenient than before.

2027 Porsche Taycan Price

The 2027 Porsche Taycan price starts at $111,900 for the rear-wheel-drive Taycan. Porsche says deliveries for the updated models begin in fall 2026. Here is the current U.S. lineup:

2027 Taycan model Starting MSRP 0-60 mph Maximum power
Taycan $111,900 4.5 sec 402 hp
Taycan 4 $116,000 4.4 sec 402 hp
Taycan 4S $131,800 3.5 sec 536 hp
Taycan GTS $157,000 3.1 sec. 690 hp
Taycan Turbo $184,600 2.5 sec 871 hp
Taycan Turbo S $221,400 2.3 sec 938 hp
Taycan Turbo GT $243,700 2.2 sec. 1,019 hp
Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package $243,700 2.1 sec. 1,019 hp

Porsche’s current configurator confirms the Turbo GT and Weissach Package pricing and performance figures, including the 1,019-hp overboost rating and 2.1-second 0-60 mph time for the Weissach version. These are manufacturer-listed starting MSRPs. They do not include options, taxes, title, registration, Porsche’s delivery, processing and handling fee, dealer charges, or potential tariffs. Porsche also notes that dealers determine the actual selling price. That matters particularly with a Taycan because wheels, paint, interior packages, driver-assistance systems, and personalization can push the final price well above the base MSRP.

Why Does Shipping a Porsche Taycan Need Extra Care?

A Taycan is not difficult to ship simply because it is electric. But several characteristics mean Porsche car transport should be planned carefully. First is the vehicle’s value. Even the base 2027 Taycan starts above $110,000, while Turbo GT models begin above $240,000 before options. That makes condition documentation, careful loading, and appropriate carrier selection especially important. Second is ground clearance. The Taycan has a low sports-car profile, so loading angles need to be considered. A carrier should know the vehicle’s clearance and use equipment suitable for loading a low vehicle without unnecessary contact with the front bumper, underbody, or battery enclosure. Third is the high-voltage battery.

The 2027 Porsche Taycan keeps the core character of Porsche’s electric sports sedan while adding several meaningful updates. The 105-kWh Performance Battery Plus is now standard across the lineup. Most variants gain native NACS DC fast charging. E-Shift adds eight simulated gears and more driver feedback, while Porsche Digital Interaction brings faster software, AI-assisted voice control, expanded smartphone integration, and over-the-air updates. Pricing now stretches from $111,900 for the base Taycan to $243,700 for the Turbo GT and Turbo GT with the Weissach Package.

For owners arranging Porsche auto transport, the shipping process deserves the same attention as the purchase. Choose a carrier that can accommodate a low sports car, disclose any battery or damage concerns before pickup, document the vehicle carefully, and decide whether open or enclosed transport better matches the Taycan’s value and finish. With the right preparation, Porsche Taycan delivery can be straightforward even when the dealership and your driveway are several states apart.
